It was initially presumed that the arrival of videotape would quicken the demise of going to the Movies, whereas the opposite appears to have occurred. Nowadays, box office receipts are higher than they’ve ever been. Similar expectations prevailed when the Internet exploded into our world less than 20 years ago. People presumed that book publishing would go the way of the Dodo. We all know of course that quite the opposite has happened. People are now reading more than ever before thanks to innovators such as Amazon.com and their market-leading Kindle. So too, it would now appear, with Sat-Nav (or GPS, if you’re a Yank). Although most of us now own a SatNav device of one flavour or another, it’s still quite extraordinary how much we still seem to rely on good old-fashioned maps — whether they be of the hard-copy, folding variety or the screenshot(s) taken from Google Maps. If you’re a fan of Google Maps (as we are), then look no further!
