Much of our vocabulary in daily use has become increasingly diminished because of the overuse of certain words or adjectives. Common sense would suggest that everything simply can’t be ‘great’ or ‘brilliant’ or ‘unique. A prefect example of this phenomenon is the overuse of the word ‘paradise’ — in the material, rather than the metaphysical sense! Many destinations claim to be paradise or evocative of it and whilst many of these destinations are undoubtedly beautiful in their own ‘unique’ ways, I think it is fair to say that the Indian Ocean nation of the Maldives probably comes closest to ticking all the notional boxes.
So, if it’s a little taste of paradise you want in this life, then you could do worse than get down to your nearest Travel Centres agent (click on the ‘find and agent’ tab at the top of the home page) and ask for a copy of the Discover Travel brochure. They currently have a deal in place at the moment which provides lucky travellers with a beach villa on a full-board basis at the Meeru Island resort for just €1,699 per person plus taxes for 7 nights. You can even upgrade to all inclusive (i.e. including drinks) for a modest additional cost of €38 per person per day. As this deal is based on scheduled services, it is subject to availability and the only restriction is that the offer applies during the period August 27th right through until October 31st.
